Scout Leader Backgrounds: The people you trust your little "darlings" with each week !!!. Please note if you require any information about any leader or if you yourself are interested in becoming a leader or a helper then please do not hesitate to contact any of the leaders for a chat.

All of our leaders have connections with the Scout troop, either historical or current - in terms of being a past Scout, are married to other youth organisations leaders or have children in various organisations.

All the leaders are volunteers and of course receive no remuneration what so ever for their involvement in Scouting. All of the leaders work full time, some have their own businesses and some work shifts so please bear this is mind when you need to speak to them.

As mentioned above we are always looking for parents to become involved in our youth organisations - whether as a potential leader or helper. For child protection and security reasons we would need to carry out a CRB check on all potential adult leadership and assistance. Child safety is of course the highest priority.

Group Scout Leader - Dave Colledge

Dave (and his brothers) have been long term members and supporters of the Scout Group at Saint Andrews.  Dave's role as GSL is many faceted but essentially he carries ultimate responsibility for each of the sections.

Scout Leader - Tony Brown

Tony was a Scout at Saint Andrews from age 11 to 16 - in fact Dave our GSL and Tony Balderson were his Scout leaders in the 1970's ! By day Tony is a Fellow of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors working for one of the UK's leading outsourcing companies LIBERATA UK Ltd., http://www.liberata.com/property-management_19.html . Tony is married to Tracy (Snowy Owl in our Brownie pack) and his daughter Hayley helps in Scouts.

Leaders -

Nick Brown Nick has been a Saint Andrew's Cub Scout, a Scout, the Scout Leader and also one of the youngest Assistant District Commissioners in the County.  Nick stepped down as Scout Leader a couple of years ago as he ventured into the pub industry (www.thehaptoninn.co.uk). 

Stephen Culshaw  Steve joined us in late 2007 as a helper and is a great asset to the group. Steve is really keen and and also our H&S man !. Stephen brings many skills to our Scout Troop from his day job in the aviation industry. Stephen is married to Heather another one of our Brownie Leaders (Tawny Owl). 

Hayley Brown  Hayley is the daughter of Tony our Scout Leader. Hayley aims to become a young leader in Scouts in addition to her existing role as young leader at our Brownie pack and has been a Rainbow, Brownie and Guide at Saint Andrew's. She recently completed her Baden Powell Challenge award in Guides. Hayley now also assist at our Beaver Colony !
